The notes you added for the different options (like shakuhachi (flute-playing/blowjob)) do help, so props for doing that. This is a manga that lives or dies by its double entendres, and the delivery health euphemisms don’t always translate easily into English.

That said, it still doesn’t really read smoothly, some of the dialogue doesn’t make sense, and a good portion of the wordplay is simply lost. (Koyomi referring to Nadeko with 遊び盛り is a big one from the first page, just as a quick example.) It’s also a shame that Nadeko’s dialogue from her imagined scenes is left untranslated. We miss out on so much of what she’s fantasizing about.

Yeah, I saw it was MTL. It’s just… Seeing that they took the time to add clarifying notes to the translation for shakuhachi = fellatio and other such notes says they care somewhat about the result of their translation. I feel like there’s gotta be some MTL translators out there who will take criticism and improve what they’re outputting, right?

Right now, it feels like we’re in the worst of both worlds, where not only are we getting inundated by MTLs, but most of those MTLs are particularly low-effort, awful translations posted without even a basic proofreading passthrough. At least this poster showed some interest in making their MTL passthrough a little bit better. It’s still not a good TL job by any means, but maybe a bit of feedback will point them in a better direction.
